TESTIMONIALS

“After trying many different methods for learning Spanish, we found Carla! What an amazing difference in the level of progress and enthusiasm! Learning Spanish with a native speaking teacher, and one-on-one lessons has been so much more successful than any other program. As homeschoolers, we wanted a teacher who could work within the parameters set by the school course outline but still be flexible to make the course interesting and relevant to the student. We highly recommend Carla… professional, kind, knowledgeable and… she loves to teach! ”

“As per my direct (better to say Skype) experience, I would like to highlight a very focal point which has been significantly important for me: the intimate feeling she has immediately created with me has been crucial in continuing my lessons. I can say that in the last weeks, it seems to me as I had a chat with a friend and not with a teacher. It has been a kind of “penfriend” (skypefriend), and I always look forward to hearing from her for a new class. Obviously she is great with the technicalities, but most of all it’s very easy to work with her through the Internet means. Finally, I’d say that sometimes it seems to me to talk with a relative, because her strong point is to arrange lessons whether from a grammatical view or by an informal and easy way. ”

“I had the absolute pleasure of receiving Spanish lessons from Carla. From the very first meeting, I found Carla to be highly motivated in her endeavours to actually teach the language, not just provide words for conversational Spanish. She was very good with her explanations of proper grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure. It is a difficult thing to learn, a new language, especially when you have only one language to start with. Carla started every lesson in Spanish and continued throughout with not one word of English – that is the only way to learn a language. She used illustrations, pictures, magazines and books as learning tools, suggesting which grammar books I should purchase. Carla also included the history of Mexico, explaining the customs, holidays, food, the many different peoples from all the states, the economy and education system – a well-rounded education, more than just learning the language. Every week, she ended the lesson with homework, which was reviewed and corrected if necessary the following week. I had many opportunities to use Spanish during my trips to Mexico and was so pleased to know that I could converse with the locals and be understood to some degree, as well as understand them. Carla was always very encouraging with my ability to grasp the language, and complimentary on my accent. She is very pleasant and so nice to spend time with, very professional and obviously well educated. I enjoyed every lesson and only wish my extremely busy schedule had more time for language lessons. I would not hesitate to recommend Carla Tapia Torres Leal to anyone who asked as an excellent teacher of the Spanish language. Mary-Jane ”
